Who We Serve

For the purpose of e-commerce cargo forwarding from China to Australia, JTM Cargo Management collaborates with four key groups:

Chinese Consolidators

If you are a China-based consolidator who needs to handle multiple clients shipping to Australia, we provide the Australia landing/clearance/fulfilment leg.

We can act as your white-label partner or a direct service provider.

Chinese Freight Forwarders

Do you already handle the China origin side (factory pickup, consolidation, export)? Then, we can take care of the rest. We pick up the job in Australia and take care of clearance, bonded warehousing,  and national last-mile.

Small / Mid E-commerce Platforms in China

You may not be one of the major global giants, but you:

  • Have an audience
  • Ship to Australia
  • Need a reliable Australia landing partner

Regardless of your volume, we can make e-commerce cost-effective and simple.

Australian Importers

If you source goods from China and sell them in Australia, our team can help with cross-border e-commerce freight to Australia. JTM offers the full service, including:

  • Air/sea freight
  • SAC clearance (in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, Perth, Adelaide)
  • Bonded warehousing
  • Hand-over to last-mile courier

Our role: the bridge between China’s origin and Australia’s fulfilment.

How China to Australia E-Commerce Freight Works

While the e-commerce logistics between China and Australia may seem complicated at first, JTM breaks it down into a few simple steps.

1. China Origin Consolidation

We coordinate factory pickups or intake from your consolidator network in China (e.g., Shenzhen, Shanghai). We optimise export preparation while ensuring compliance with ASN and manifest standards.

2. Linehaul (Air/Sea)

We manage the transport to Australia via air or sea. Whether your goods arrive at Brisbane airport or the port in Melbourne, we manage the logistics. Our team plans transit bands and peak-season routing. Whatever happens in the world or in the country, we do our best to maintain the timeline.

3. SAC Clearance

Once the goods arrive in Australia, we perform the self-assessed clearance process. For goods valued at AUD 1,000 or less (and meeting other SAC criteria), this means simpler declarations and faster release times.

We review documents, lodge them in the ICS, and fix issues if they arise. Our system connects to the manifest data for accurate tracking.

4. Bonded Warehouse (Contracted)

We utilise contracted bonded warehouse facilities in major Australian locations (Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, Perth, and Adelaide) for:

Inbound receiving

  • Scanning
  • Relabelling
  • Pick/pack light services
  •  Storage under bond (until duty/GST is cleared)

This particular step helps defer costs and supports value-added services.

5. Courier Hand-Over (Australia-wide)

Once the cargo arrives at the bonded warehouse or clearance location, we perform a hand-over to Australia’s national last-mile courier network. We manage all the steps to arrange the end-to-end fulfilment for your Australian customers.

6. Visibility & Reporting

We provide consignment-level ETAs, exception dashboards, weekly performance reports, and a single ops contact for any issue. We believe transparency drives both trust and operational efficiency.

Our advantage

What Makes JTM Different

Many freight forwarders talk about e-commerce logistics. But few own the full chain from China origin all the way to last-mile in Australia. Here’s how we differentiate:

Own the full chain

China origin consolidation → air/sea transport → SAC clearance (Australia import) → bonded warehousing (contracted facilities) → hand-over to Australia’s national last-mile courier network.

SAC mastery = speed + cost control

We strive to offer competitive rates without compromising on quality. Our transparent pricing ensures you get the best value for your money, with no hidden fees or surprises.

ATT accreditation

JTM is a certified member of the Australian Trusted Trader (ATT) programme. We also actively manage GST/LVG compliance, biosecurity cost-recovery, and accurate data capture. This minimises interventions and speeds up the forwarding process

Cost-Saving Guarantee

We work on a like-for-like lane comparison basis; we back our handling fee with SLA performance metrics and exclusions clearly defined. You save money and gain transparency.

One ops contact + real-time updates

When you work with JTM, you have a single point of contact and a live dashboard to follow your shipment from China to Australia.

Australia base, China linkage

Thanks to being fully based in Australia, we are deeply familiar with Australian import, clearance, warehousing, and other aspects of moving goods. Meanwhile, we also have Chinese partners. This allows us to handle factory pickups and arrange a seamless Chinese consolidator intake.

JTM is a white-label friendly company. We can handle the entire Australia-side logistics while your customers see only your company’s name.

SAC Clearance for E-Commerce Explained

Below is an explanation of the simplified self-assessed clearance (SAC) process. It’s highly relevant for low-value parcel imports and e-commerce entry.

  • SAC is a simplified declaration method for low-value (AUD 1,000 or less) goods arriving by air or sea cargo into Australia.
  • SAC is not available for goods arriving by international mail or via other non-cargo flows.
  • Leveraging SAC can help with faster clearance. It usually means facing fewer interventions and less paperwork. Importers or their agents lodge via the ICS.
  • Starting 1 October 2024, a biosecurity cost-recovery charge applies for declared low-value goods under SAC.
  • Even with SAC involved, GST still applies to imported goods.
  • If the consignment value is more than AUD 1,000, or if your goods are restricted, you must use a full Import Declaration (FID) or long-format SAC.

SAC is an excellent tool for clearing low-value, standard goods. Discuss the options for applying SAC to your shipment with the JTM team.

Bonded Warehousing & Deferment

Bonded warehousing can be a deciding factor for the success of e-commerce freight and logistics. Here is why:

  • Duty/GST deferred: Goods can be held under bond until you choose to clear them, or until they are re-exported.
  • Flexibility: You can split shipments, do lighter pick/pack, relabel, and rework cartons (ideal for e-commerce) before delivery.
  • Geographic reach: We contract warehouses in major hubs (Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, Perth, and Adelaide) in order to support national distribution.

In short, using JTM’s bonded warehousing capability means your goods move into the fulfilment chain without the immediate clearance cost burdens.

  • National network of last-mile courier partners
  • Labelling and manifest standards aligned with courier requirements
  • Returns and failed-delivery workflow management
  • Integration with bonded warehouse or clearance hubs

JTM is an end-to-end service that includes solving all challenges along the way. The long way your goods make from China to Australia is made much shorter by our targeted arrangements.

If you are shipping from China and targeting the Australian e-commerce market, here’s why you should partner with JTM:

  • Full formula: Use SAC clearance + bonded warehousing + last-mile hand-over = an all-in one offering.

Frequently Asked Questions about E-Commerce Freight

What is SAC and when is it used?

SAC is a simplified customs clearance declaration for low-value goods (AUD 1,000 or less) arriving by air/sea into Australia.

Does GST apply to low-value imports?

Yes. Even low-value goods can attract GST. To avoid issues, you need to follow vendor collection rules and ensure import-side compliance.

When do I need a full Import Declaration (FID) instead of SAC?

You need FID instead of SAC when the goods value is above AUD 1,000, or the goods are restricted, or the import falls outside SAC eligibility.

What are the ATT benefits for shippers?

Trusted trader status (ATT) allows the shipper to speed up border processing. Goods benefit from a smoother flow across origin, import, and warehousing legs.

How long does it take to ship e-commerce goods from China to Australia?

Transit time depends on the mode — air freight usually takes 5–10 days, while sea freight can take 3–5 weeks, including clearance and last-mile delivery.

What types of goods are eligible for e-commerce freight forwarding to Australia?

Most consumer products, electronics, clothing, and accessories can be shipped. Restricted or hazardous goods require special permits and may need full import declarations.

How does JTM ensure fast delivery after customs clearance?

Once SAC clearance is completed, goods move directly to bonded warehouses and are handed over to Australia’s national last-mile couriers for fast, tracked delivery.

What visibility do I have over my shipment?

JTM provides real-time tracking, exception dashboards, and weekly reports, so you can monitor every stage from pickup in China to final delivery in Australia.
